Happy MLK Day!

For some.....
For some this day is a day off of School.
For some this is a day to celebrate...

For me,
this day is one to remember. Exactly 2 years ago today I officially made the decision to turn in my mission papers. I called my Bishop and told him to press Submit to send in my mission papers.

It was BY FAR the BEST.decision.I.ever.made!

So eternally grateful for the opportunity that I had to serve a honorable full time mission.

I feel so blessed.

Welp..... I am here!
I am ready to work hard!
It has been rather stressful the past couple of days trying to get back into the swing of things. Meaning academics...teachers.....schedules.....etc...

Oh I got a job! I now work at the MTC ( Mission Training Center) in the Cafeteria :) I get to feed missionaries from all over the world. Yesterday was my first day at work. I worked on lines 1 and 2 and served Phili Steak Sandwiches ( So if I smell like french fries and steak...that is why)

Anyways I am ready for all sorts of new adventures this semester and am anxious to see what the Lord has in store for me in the wonderful year of 2013!

sunday thoughts .....

“Be a woman of Christ. Cherish your esteemed place in the sight of God. He needs you. This church needs you. The world needs you. A woman's abiding trust in God and unfailing devotion to things of the Spirit have always been an anchor when the wind and the waves of life were fiercest.”

Guess where I am going!?!

Welp you guessed it!! I am going back to New York to Visit my mission! I am SO excited! Really it is all I have been thinking about since I got back. I have been thinking about the people that I taught, the members, people I contacted on the street. New York will forever hold a VERY special place in my heart.

(Sometimes I like to think I am a New Yorker)

I can't wait to see how the spirit of Christmas has once again touched the hearts of the people in NY!

New York Here I come!

(Guess I better start packing)

P.s. ~ Amanda Walker I CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU!!!!

That's what I love about Sundays :)

Just helping my little brother Garrett out with a photo project

love my little Sister Alyssa! She is getting ready to go on a mission :)
 makes me miss gymnastics..

Life is Interesting!

I loved today. I really just love the Sabbath! In the morning I was able to take some pictures for my brother. Just being around nature really gets me thinking. As I was sitting by the river I was able to ponder. I have come to a point in my life of decision making. I am eternally grateful for the blessing that I had to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I have found that when we are obedient to the commandments, that our Loving Heavenly Father has given us we are happier :) That is one of our purposes on this life is to be happy! One of my favorite scriptures in the Book of Mormon is found in Mosiah 2:41

41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and ahappy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are bblessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out cfaithful to the end they are received into dheaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

I am thankful for wonderful parents who have always taught me to look upwards and to put my trust in my Heavenly Father. Today in Relief Society we were able to go over the first lesson in Preach my Gospel. The very first point is "God is our Loving Heavenly Father." I believe that when we truly understand that, then we can understand our potential. If we understand that we are literal sons and daughters of a Loving Heavenly Father then we understand our Purpose in life. When we understand our true identity we understand that we have a divine potential. Heavenly Father see's us in terms of the eternities and he see's us as who we can become.

Welp...I am falling asleep but here is quote that I like..

Great things are brought about and burdens are lightened through the efforts of many hands “anxiously engaged in a good cause.” M. Russell Ballard

Goodnight world....
go and do something good!
