Take time... to share the gospel

Take time..
To enjoy
the simple things
in life!
Don't ever
let a good
moment
pass
you
by!

Especially....
A missionary Moment!!

This is Leanne and I :) We have an awesome story together oh how we met. I was with a bunch of EFY counselors (Especially For Youth) this summer were up in Canada road tripping. We were by Waterton and stopped to take pictures. So I asked Leanne if she would mind taking our picture. She happily said that she would lOVE to! She then asked us if she could take some pictures on her Camera. Then she ended up doing pretty much an entire photo shoot for us. She kept saying that there was something different about all of us, and she loved that we were all so happy and shining. She just kept complimenting us and fell in love with all of us. We then exchanged contact information. Then Shane went up to her and said, " You wanna know why we are so happy?" This is why...and he handed her a Book of Mormon. She was So happy to get this gift and was anxious to read it. Leanne and I have kept in contact ever since. She had always said that she wanted to come to Arizona, but i have never thought in my wildest dreams that she would actually make it down here and come to see me. It was always a hope. However the other day she text me and asked me how far away I was from Phoenix. I told her about an hour. Then she asked me if I had ever gone hiking in Sedona. I responded and told her that I had gone and that I have wanted to go this fall but had never found the time to go. She said how about this Saturday?? I was in shock! I said," WHAT?!? are you kidding me!?! I would LOVE to go. So then on Saturday morning I drove up to phoenix and then she treated me to a wonderful breakfast at Coco's and then we were off. We drove and drove and stopped and took pictures here and there. Sedona and up north is ABSOLUTELY beautiful! I loved it! It was so neat to catch up with her and kinda tell each other "our life stories". I was able to learn more about her and her background/ life it was really neat. We talked about the gospel and I explained to her the background of our Church and how it was restored to this earth again by the prophet Joesph Smith. She said that she got all warm and fuzzy inside when she heard me talking about the church and what I believed :) I explained to her that, that was the spirit. We loved enjoying each others company. It was FREEZING so we stopped and got some matching socks :)

Then Leanne and I hiked West Fork. I have to say first off that Leanne is one of THE most Friendliest people I have EVER met! she was talking to everyone that she saw. We met quite a few friends on the trails that she took pictures with :) It is so much fun to be around her. She is a little ball of energy and sunshine! I love her so much! She is such a good example of Charity. She is always wanting to give give give. She is so selfless and always thinking of others before herself.
After we went hiking we then left when it was getting dark and we headed out to eat some dinn dinn. So we stopped at Taco del Mar and had some yummy mexican food :) Then we headed up to Flagstaff. We finally made it and stayed with Jerah and Randon. It was SO good to see both of them and to catch up. We stayed up talking while leanne was passed out tired on the Couch. Then Jerah and I made some Hot Chocolate and then went outside in the POURING RAIN!!
We stayed up talking forever just like we always had at sleep overs :)
Then the next morning I asked Leanne if she wanted to come to Church with me and she said, " OF course". Boy I was Happy!!
So we ate some breakfast and said our goodbyes to Jerah and Randon.
Leanne wanted a picture of Jerahs cute flower that she made :)
So after we said our Goodbyes we headed to Church. We made it to Flagstaffs first ward. The meeting was really good I loved it! The speakers spoke on Trials and then the second speaker spoke on The plan of Happiness! The spirit was So strong the entire meeting and Leanne absolutely LOVED being there. I cant tell you how many times she thanked me for letting her come to Church with me. Then we hit the road and headed back to phoenix where we met my mom and little sister Courtney. They both wanted to meet Leanne.

I love this!!!

I absolutely love this quote! It is SO true. There are so many times in our lives where something does not go exactly the way that you want it to, or we loose something that we wanted really badly. However if we would just take a step back and ask ourselves the question," How can this Benefit me?" How can I learn from this? Then we may realize that something even better is going to happen or something even BETTER is going to be waiting for us or given. Life is full of surprises and I can't WAIT to see what those are! The lord knows us better than we know ourselves and if we would just turn our life over to him and trust in him full heartedly we will find that he can do so much more with our lives than we would have EVER dreamed of!

Becoming more like Christ and Following his Example!

What the Gilbert Temple is going to look like :)
I don't really know where to begin. My heart is full. I have been able to feel the spirit and the love that my savior has for me all weekend.
Let me start with the Gilbert Temple Ground Breaking. What a wonderful experience this was. I have never had the opportunity to attend such a service. Chelsea and I showed up 2 hours early to make sure that we got seats. They set out over 5,000 seats and well over 5,000 people showed up. It was really neat to see everyone and their families dressed up in Sunday Clothes for this special occasion. Elder Garn spoke first and talked about the history of Arizona and the Church, and talked about the first pioneers who came here.

" In 1968 there were only 9 stakes in Arizona, now there are 70 stakes."  " As we touch the temple and love the temple, we can bear every trial and resist every temptation."

Elder Walker then began to speak and talked about the 7 years of preparation that we have all made in order to build this temple. " Mesa Arizona has been one of the busiest temples in the church." ~ I thought that was interesting, the church in this area is growing so fast. He quoted President Thomas S. Monson when he said,
" The best missionary's come from Southern Alberta Canada and Mesa Arizona." ~ Now that is neat, so props to you hard working missionary's! Keep up the great work!

Elder Costa then said the Dedicatory prayer, and the promises that he said in that prayer were incredible. It just goes to show that the lord is just WAITING to bless us if we but obey him and keep our end of the deal.
He then spoke and talked about the importance of temples and how obedient and blessed and faithful saints are here in Gilbert AZ. This was such a neat experience to be apart of this event.
******
Stake Conference
In the Adult session on Saturday night Sister Housley (The relief Society President) spoke to us about the importance of creating a temple like atmosphere in our own homes. " The temple is a place of service, a home can be a place of service too"
****
Brock Booher Then spoke about missionary work and how we need to OPEN OUR MOUTHS. We are promised that our mouths will be filled if we open our mouths. There are so many times where we get scared of rejection, however that is the worst thing that can happen they can say no. He talked about the challenge that our Stake president issued us a couple of months ago which was to Invite someone to good. Whether it be inviting them to read the Book of Mormon, inviting them to come to church, to take the missionary discussions or simply inviting someone to come to your home. He then talked about the promises that we will receive by doing so.
1. You will have an increase in spirit.
2. You will find blessings that you individually need and as a family.
3.You will find answers to your prayers.
4. You will find that your burdens will be made light.
*****
" When we open our mouths we can experience miracles, we bless not only those we speak to, but ourselves as well.

President Houserman - Then spoke about our Names, and what we have done with Christ's Name. And how we would never want to do anything that would bring shame to Christs name. We need to live in his example." We should believe on his name and love one another."

President Riggs
This man is amazing and I absolutely LOVE hearing him speak.
" Your father in Heaven loves you, your Savior Jesus Christ Loves you." He talked about how the world is throwing things at us right and left and that we need to be able to turn to our Heavenly Father.
He also talked about the importance of Sacrament meeting.
" What are you doing to prepare for the Sacrament? Do you remember your covenants which you have made?"
" In order to prepare for the second coming of our Savior you have to prepare your heart."
******
President Hinckley said," Stand a little Taller."
Sometimes it can be over whelming the things that we are needing to be doing. However all that he asks is that we stand a little taller, that we BE a little better. Do something each day that can make you a better person and become the person you want to be. Become more and more like our Savior everyday by following his example.
President Riggs Said, " Do you spend your time serving the lord?" or do you idol away your time?"
We need to make sure that we are reading and reading and RE-reading the talks given in General Conference. Those are the words of the lord! We are so blessed to have a LIVING prophet and apostles today on this earth and to receive modern revelation. I am so thankful for the amazing leaders of the Church. I love this gospel and the happiness that it brings into my life!

I couldn’t be happier!

Reasons why:
*We had the Gilbert Temple Ground Breaking Ceremony.
*Last night we had the Adult session of Stake Conference.
*Today we had stake conference where we had the blessed opportunity to hear from our beloved Prophet Thomas S. Monson. He is an incredible man and I am so thankful for him.
* I have so much to be thankful for, and one is being a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
*I have been truly blessed!

Gilbert Temple Ground Breaking!

I have been waiting for this moment since President Thomas S. Monson Announced that they were going to be building a Temple in Gilbert Arizona! Chelsea and I went a couple hours early so that we could save seats! This meeting was incredible and the spirit was so strong. Elder Costa ( a member of the Quorum of the 70) Came and spoke and did the dedicatory prayer on the temple grounds. The spirit was incredible and my heart was full. I am So excited for this Beautiful Temple to be built. I am so thankful for the blessings that we can receive from going to the temple. We now are going to have one that is 3 minutes or less from my house. I have such a strong testimony of temples and the work that is performed. I CANT WAIT for it to be built :)

Suns Game!

The whole groupy!
Courtney Sophie and me! They did such a great job!
Lindsay and I got almost front row seats....it was awesome!

Tonight we all went to the Suns Game! We all piled into the Burb and were on our way! We had to keep giving Devin Directions the whole time, and had fun jamming out to music. ( we had Lindsay be our DJ because Devin listens to weird music) haha The game was a blast! Courtney my little sister danced tonight at the game with Sophie! They were so cute! During the half time Show Kenny and I went down to the VERY front Rows. Then we all stayed down there for an entire quarter. The rest of the Gang came to hang out with us then we got kicked out because we were sitting in someones seats. It was crazy though, we could see all the players facial expressions. Courtney did such a great job dancing! I love that girl! Then after the game we went to " Bahama Bucks". Since Kenny pretty much owns the place we got hook ups :) Kenny pre-ordered us all ice cream! It was delicious! After we ate our hearts out in Ice Cream we all came back to my house and  just sat and talk. Kenny and Devin pretty much led a Scripture study for us. It was a great Friday night! ~ Cant wait for the Ground Breaking of the Gilbert Temple tomorrow!! :)
