Today was just one of those good days :) It was simple. Then we both headed over to Family Home Evening... { We were the only ones there...but thats besides the point} Then came home and enjoyed a delicious healthy snack; apples & peanut butter, cuties and some orange juice :) as we watched Letters to Juliet! One of my FAV's!

{ My ALL time Favorite scene of this movie, I mean come on its when they confess their undying  love for each other :) }

After this lovely movie I had to conquer.....

THIS!

laundry.... i had a picture to upload but my computer is being silly

Tomorrow is March! and....

I COULDN'T be MORE EXCITED!!!

Prospective Missionary Fireside!

I cant wait to be one of them! ( less than 3 months)

I had the absolutely wonderful opportunity last week to attend the Missionary Fireside, where were privileged to hear from Elder Gene R. Cook of the Quorum of the Seventy. Pretty neat huh? Well here are my notes from the fireside.
Hope you enjoy.

Sister Cook
Get ready, for you never know where the lord is going to take you. Given us such a strong faith in knowing that this is the lords work. My husband has missionary blood. He is truly a missionary. He is still a missionary today. He is always stepping forward. He has taught the missionary's throughout the world. IF you seek the will of the lord, then you will feel of his spirit tonight. God lives, He is our loving Heavenly Father. We are presented to our father through our Savior. Thomas S. Monson is our true living prophet today. I pray that your testimony's are strengthened. Go forth and do the lords will.
(I love how truly sincere she is when she talks about her husband,  I cant help but smile)

Elder Gene R. Cook

The gospel is preached by men and angels :) If you do not have a man on a white stallion come sweep you off your feet before hand, and you have that desire to go, go!
There is no church as good as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The fullness of this gospel has been restored. Prepare your first missionary's.
He then tells a story of when he was talking to all his young boys at a family home evening where he asked them, " Are you guys ready to go on a mission?"
When his little boy replied," No dad, I am still in my Pajamas." Now this is adorable!

********
I hope that many of your prayers are answered today.
1. Why should you go on a mission?
2. How to prepare.
3. What are some blessings?

  • Why should I serve?
First of all you have to have a desire to serve god.
Doctrine and Covenants 4:3 reads " If you have the desires to serve god, ye are called to the work"

If you do not already have that desire Pray!

Doctrine and Covenants 15:6 "The thing which will be the most worth will be declaring an ensign unto this people that you may feel rest."

Doctrine and Covenants 18:10, 15-16: "Remember that the worth of souls is great in the sight of God."
How great shall be your joy, if you bring but one soul unto me.

You have to have that desire.

*******

 WHY should you serve?
(Mosiah 4:24)
2) HOW do we prepare?

1. Pray intently everyday to increase your desire to better prepare and tell you by revelation what you need to do. The lord will give it to you.
2.Search the scriptures. The Book of Mormon is the instrument of Conversion. Read from the Book of Mormon. It will bring about greater conversion. When you are searching your scriptures, MARK and memorize.
Memorize 20,30,40 or even 50 scriptures and then study by topic. Take the atonement and see what the Book of Mormon has to say about it.
3. Maintain your personal worthiness. Be careful with the opposite gender. Be more conservative. We have had so many missionaries not been able to serve. Satins work is in the dark, and Christ's work is in the LIGHT!
4. In your study focus on your foundation of your faith which is the Restoration.
Joesph Smith was the prophet of the restoration. Read the first page of the introduction thats what we use with investigators. Testimony of Christ.
Talk topic - Book of Mormon.
Bore testimony of Nephi, Alma, the atonement, Bore testimony in the name of Jesus Christ. TESTIMONY!

Get centered on the restoration and bear testimony of it!!

5. Observe others that teach by the spirit and notice what they do!
copy as they do.

6. Go out with the missionaries
Commitments are the keys to success. Commitments are also the door to repentance.
YOU are the guide to the spirit which will convert.

7. WORK, WORK, WORK!!!
Working hard and giving it your all in whatever you are doing.

Well for all you devoted followers this post will be continued :)

Stay Tuned :)

Dreams...

My dreams keep becoming more and more vivid...
as if I was there.

What are your dreams?
Whatever they are..make them come true.
You have that ability!

Dream BIG!

Lovely Snow!

Snowy Eye Lashes :)

I woke up today to WHITE! There was snow EVERYWHERE! I have never seen so much white in my life. Only in movies.

As I walked to school I was able to meet a new friend her name was Jessica.
We both had fun playing in the snow!

You know what?
I actually like the snow.

Everyone always asks me, " Why in the world did you transfer here from Hawaii?" Are you crazy?!

My answer is this.

I have never lived in or been able to experience snow at this level, let alone live in it! Plus.... How often to you get to be in a School with SUCH  a wonderful uplifting environment and where everyone shares the same goals. Our ultimate goal, is to return to live with our Heavenly Father. And living the standards given by our prophets, hearing from our church leaders every week.

Yeah I don't think it gets better than this :)

I like it!

 kissing snow :)
 I heart it!
I couldn't ask for a more perfect beautiful snowy Friday :) Hopefully my test goes well!
Yay for Studying!

just a day just an ordinary day :)

Studying at the Library was just wonderful.
Actually got to meet some people in my Geology Class (the class is about 100)
My exercising consisted of BOLTING up the Stairs from the RB.
oh and also HIP HOP in Jazz :)
It started snowing tonight when I left the Library at like 11pm:)

P.s. I gave a little devotional/thought today in my Tap class. And afterwards my teacher said," See class don't you think that Kaitlin is going to make a wonderful missionary?"

That made me feel just happy inside :)

Now bring on Friday.

Heavenly Father Has...

Faith in me!
If we would just realize our ultimate potential in life, just like that of our Heavenly Father then we could do SO much more! We could do that what we dreamed of and even more.
I think that sometimes we get down on ourselves, for example when we are going through a trial. But..
You know what?
Trials are to only make us stronger! Just as it says in
Ether 12:27

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

Trials are for our own good believe it or not! For if we never knew the downs then how can we know the ups?

Everyone is going through their own battle and trial in life, so why not focus on others and not so much ourselves. My dad always told us, that when we are having a hard time in life, that we should go out and serve.  So why not serve others and help focus on their problems and not yours? Something to think about :)

Whenever I am having a struggle or hard time in my life I always turn to the scriptures, and it always works without fail. The lord knows us better than we know ourselves and can help us through his powerful word. One of my favorite quotes is

" If you want to talk to God Pray, If you want God to talk to you read your scriptures."

One of my favorites scriptures during times of need is found in Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-9

7My son, apeace be unto thy soul; thine badversity and thine afflictions shall be but a csmall moment;
8And then, if thou aendure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy bfoes.
9Thy afriends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands.
I just love that we can truly do ANYTHING if we put our mind to it! We have so much potential.
We are each sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father and that knowledge alone is SO en-powering!
So whatever you want to do in life, whatever goals you have..
YOU can accomplish them! But not alone, remember that our Heavenly Father wants to be involved in our lives.
Pray.
Do your part.
Serve.
Now GO and do!

one one one!!!!

UNA mes! :)

Date with the Library :)

Well I had another lovely date with the library... I was there from 4 till midnight... Don't worry the Library and I took a 2 hour break from each other.

On my break I went to the Missionary fireside in the Wilk. We were so privileged to hear from Elder Gene R. Cook from the Quorum of the 70! His talk was SPECTACULAR!!! It made me want to leave on my mission....like TOMORROW!! but.. I guess i'll have to wait a little less than 3 more months :)

Then it was back to the library.. I was there when the cool music came on over the speakers pretty much saying "GET OUT" so.. I listened :)

I got a ride home from some strangers, who are now friends!

I love..
Dates with the library..
Making new Friends.
and ANYTHING missionary related!
and...Sleep?
Did I mention that?
Ok good night!

Success!!!

I didn't eat ONE piece of candy yesterday :)
And.. I biked for 25 minutes!
And I really really concentrated hard when I studied my scriptures and I focused on the topic of Prayer!
It's really nice to switch up your scripture study and focus on one topic.

Here is a quote on prayer that I love!
"A key to improved prayer is to learn to ask the right questions. Consider changing from asking for the things you want to honestly seeking what He wants for you. Then as you learn His will, pray that you will be led to have the strength to fulfill it."

I REALLY

I REALLY miss this girl!

This Saturday...

This Saturday was Great!
Lu'au Practice!
Baptisms for the Dead at the Provo Temple- (Electricity went off for like fifteen minutes) It went off while I was in the confirmation room with about 16 others. This was a first for me having the lights go off.
The cute temple workers said,
"well guess you kids have to pay more tithing so that we can pay the electric bills."
" You guys think you have it bad, Just think about the kids in the font."
I just LOVE the sweet temple workers, They always have something funny to say :)

Then went to a baptism for two new Converts from Brazil! This got me SO SO excited about going on my mission! They did the whole ceremony in Portuguese! Which was SUPER neat! Afterwards we had a fiesta and celebrated with some food and desserts from Brazil! mmmm

The two in the middle are the ones who got baptized :)

And then to top the night off I went swing Dancing!
This was Rockin!

Big thank you to my mother!

Just in case someone asks....

"And when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead and remember that faith is always pointed toward the future. Faith always has to do with blessings and truths and events that will yet be efficacious in our lives."

"God doesn’t care nearly as much about where you have been as He does about where you are and, with His help, where you are willing to go. "

~ Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Happy Valentines Day! I hope everyone has a fantastic day! I have a hot date with my spanish text books in the library....All Day! That should be fun!

This was a Valentines Day that I will always remember :) It was my favorite. Woke up early to make this cute kid Breakfast! Then went to our Favorite restaurant Gecko Grill, and then Junior Miss. I felt so lucky to spend the whole day with him.
This was definitely one of my favorites <3

This Valentines day was with my Hawaiian Roomy! We made some cookies with our favorite couple Kilie and Huston! It was a day to go down in history.

This year I was able to spend it with the Hallsteds. Well Valentines day Eve that is :) We even got snoopy Pjs. We reinacted our water ballet and took some crazy pictures trying to do flips. I lOVE this girls to death!!

Whatever it is that you do on Valentines day I hope that it is a day for you to remember.

But I hope that you all take time to ponder the greatest act of Love ever performed.
The Atonement and our Savior Jesus Christ and what he has done for each of us :)

The Purpose of Relief Society

To summarize, the purpose of Relief Society, as established by the Lord, is to organize, teach, and inspire His daughters to prepare them for the blessings of eternal life. I would like to say that again. The purpose of Relief Society, as established by the Lord, is to organize, teach, and inspire His daughters to prepare them for the blessings of eternal life.

To fulfill the purpose of Relief Society, the Lord has commissioned each Relief Society sister and the organization as a whole to:
  1. 1.
Increase in faith and personal righteousness.
  2. 2.
    Strengthen families and homes.
  3. 3.
Serve the Lord and His children.
